Armenian American Power and Progress Saluted at Reception in Support of ANCA Telethon 2014
GLENDALE—Prominent community leaders from throughout the Glendale area united with power and purpose at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Garo and Talin Ghazarian for a special evening reception, co-hosted by Edvin Minassian, in support of ANCA Telethon 2014 – a six hour broadcast to be aired on June 1st devoted to the continued growth of Armenian American civic participation.
“The ANCA is our community’s sword and shield,” host Garo Ghazarian, Esq. told guests. “The ANCA continues to mobilize and prepare the Armenian nation to meet challenges head on. By strengthening the ANCA, we empower our community resolve and ensure our collective success for the Armenian Cause.”
Evening co-host Edvin Minassian, Esq. concurred, stating, “The ANCA is a unique, influential and indispensable voice for the Armenian community. There is no better advocate for the Armenian Cause. While many can talk the talk; ANCA walks the walk and produces results. It is our duty to support ANCA and I am proud to do so.”
Invoking the themes of America’s own Battle Hymn of the Republic, ANCA National Board Member Raffi Hamparian challenged participants to help strengthen the voice of the Armenian American community by expanding the ANCA’s resources. “We are – in the words of this great patriotic song, truly the ‘the trumpet that shall never call retreat.’”
Attendees at the May 6th gathering expressed their support for the Armenian Cause during an evening featuring a special performance by legendary singer Harout Pamboukjian, who has been a steadfast supporter of the ANCA throughout his illustrious career.
“We want to share our heartfelt thanks with our great friends Garo and Talin Ghazarian, Edvin Minassian, and all those – very notably, of course, Harout Pamboukjian – who made this such a special day for our community and Cause,” Hamparian added.
The ANCA Telethon 2014 is a nationwide broadcast designed to empower Armenian Americans, protect Armenia and promote the Armenian Cause throughout the United States. The gathering in Glendale is part of a coordinated and major grassroots effort, featuring community events and a social networking campaign that will lead up to June 1, 2014, when the 6-hour telethon will be aired in major markets across the United States from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. PST (6 p.m. to midnight EST). In support of the ANCA Telethon 2014, countless organizations, volunteers, churches, community leaders, performing artists and politicians will be coming together to highlight the successes of the ANCA in advancing the Armenian Cause in Washington, DC and across the United States. The telethon will feature several documentaries focused on the work of the organization and the volunteers whose grassroots efforts have made the ANCA a strong and universally respected voice for the Armenian Cause.
Community Leaders, Elected Officials Lend Their Support To ANCA Telethon 2014
LA CANADA, Calif.—Community leaders and elected officials joined together in expanding the civic power, respect, and influence of the Armenian American community at a recent gathering hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Zareh and Melina Issakhanian to support ANCA Telethon 2014.

ANCA Telethon Committee Chairman Steve Artinian and community leader Arick Gevorkian inspired participants to help the ANCA secure even greater successes for Armenia, Artsakh and our communities across the world, by giving generously to ANCA Telethon 2014.

The private reception included special guests, Glendale City Councilmember Ara Najarian, and Glendale Unified School Board Member and previous president, Nayiri Nahabedian – both long-time supporters of the ANCA’s grassroots efforts to increase Armenian American civic participation.
The ANCA Endowment Fund supports a broad range of educational, youth, and civic programs that give voice to the views and values of the Armenian American community, strengthening our presence in the American civic arena, and empowering pro-Armenian stakeholders with the information and resources they need to take on the powerful forces aligned against the Armenian nation.
The first three ANCA Endowment Fund telethons, held in 2006, 2009 and 2012, raised over $6.5 million for Armenian American educational, youth, and civic programs. Each program touched a common emotional chord, speaking directly to the devotion to the Armenian Cause in the hearts of Armenians from across the U.S., regardless of organizational or political affiliations.

ՍԱՆ ՖՐԱՆՍԻՍՔՕ.- Ուրբաթ, Մայիս 2ին, Գռուզեան-Զաքարեան-Վասպուրական Ազգային վարժարանին մէջ տեղի ունեցաւ Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի՝ Յունիս 1ին պատկերասփռուելիք դրամահաւաքին՝ թելեթոնին, ի նպաստ ձեռնարկ մը, որուն ներկայ էին «Հըրպսթ» հիմնարկի վարչութեան անդամ Ճերըլ Հերիս ու Արեւմտեան Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի օրէնսդրական հարցերու պատասխանատու Հայկ Պաղտասարեան:
Ձեռնարկին բացումը կատարեց Նանօր Էքմէքճեան, որմէ ետք ելոյթ ունեցաւ Հայկ Պաղտասարեան՝ խօսելով թելեթոնին եւ Հայ Դատի աշխատանքներու կարեւորութեան մասին:
Ապա, աշակերտները ներկայացուցին բանաստեղծութիւննեով, երգերով եւ նուագներով հարուստ գեղարուեստական յայտագիր մը: Ելոյթ ունեցաւ վարժարանի երգչախումբը՝ ղեկավարութեամբ Նայիրի Սարգիսի, նաեւ կայացաւ արուեստի գործերու ցուցադրութիւն:
Աւարտին, սփռուեցաւ Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի գործադիր վարիչ Արամ Համբարեանի շնորհակալական խօսքին արձանագրութիւնը: Դրամահաւաքէն կարելի եղած է գոյացնել 1000 տոլար գումար մը:
Ամերիկահայութեան Ուժն ու Յառաջխաղացքը՝ Հայ Դատի Թելեթոնին Ի Նպաստ Հաւաքին Կիզակէտը
ԿԼԵՆՏԷՅԼ.- Համայնքի յայտնի դէմքեր՝ Կլենտէյլի տարբեր շրջաններէն, Մայիս 6ի երեկոյեան հաւաքուած էին Կարօ եւ Թալին Ղազարեաններու բնակարանը, Էտվին Մինասեանի համահիւրընկալութեամբ տեղի ունեցած ընդունելութեան մը համար, ի նպաստ Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի Յունիս 1ին պատկերասփռուելիք դրամահաւաքին՝ թելեթոնին:
«Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբը մեր համայնքի սուրն ու վահանն է ու կը շարունակէ մեզ պատրաստել՝ դիմագրաւելու համար գալիք մարտահրաւէրները: Հզօրացնելով Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբը՝ զօրացուցած պիտի ըլլանք մեր համայնքը, մեր բոլորին յաջողութիւնը ապահովելով Հայկական Հարցի պայքարին մէջ», յայտարարեց իրաւաբան Կարօ Ղազարեան:
Համահիւրընկալը՝ իրաւաբան Էտվին Մինասեան, երկրորդելով Ղազարեանի խօսքը՝ աւելցուց. «Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբը իւրայատուկ, ազդեցիկ եւ կենսական ձայնն է ամերիկահայ համայնքին: Հայկական Հարցին աւելի լաւ պաշտպան մը չկայ, որովհետեւ մինչ շատեր կը խօսին, Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբը իր գործով շօշափելի արդիւնք կ՛ապահովէ: Մեր բոլորին պարտականութիւնն է նեցուկ կանգնիլ Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբին, եւ հպարտ եմ, որ այս առիթը տրուած է ինծի»:
Ելոյթ ունեցաւ նաեւ Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի վարչութեան անդամ Ռաֆֆի Համբարեան, յոյժ կարեւոր նկատելով ամերիկահայութեան ձայնը աւելի լսելի դարձնելու համար՝ Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբին կողմէ տարուող աշխատանքներուն զօրակցիլը, ապա ամերիկեան հայրենասիրական երգէ մը մէջբերում կատարելով՝ ըսաւ. «Մենք իսկապէս այն շեփորն ենք, որ նահանջի կոչ պիտի չընէ»:
Ձեռնակին մասնակիցները նաեւ վայելեցին հռչակաւոր երգիչ Յարութ Փամպուքճեանի կատարումները: Ռաֆֆի Համբարեան ապա շնորհակալութիւն յայտնեց հիւրընկալներուն եւ Փամպուքճեանին, որոնք սոյն ձեռնարկի յաջողութեան նպ-աստեցին:

Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի հիմնադրամին ի նպա-ստ պատկերասփիւռային նախկին դրամահաւաքները տեղի ունեցան 2006ին, 2009ին ու 2012ին՝ հաւաքելով աւելի քան 6.5 միլիոն տոլար գումար մը՝ ի նպաստ Հայ Դատի աշխատանքներուն: Բազմաթիւ կազմակերպութեանց ներկայացուցիչներ, կամաւորներ, եկեղեցիներ, համայնքային ղեկավարներ, Հայ Դատի մասնաճիւղերու ներկայացուցիչներ, արուեստագէտներ, քոնկրեսականներ եւ նահանգային խորհրդարանի անդամներ մասնակցած են դրամահաւաքներուն՝ նպաստելով անոնց յաջողութեան:

ԼԱ ՔԱՆԻԱՏԱ.- Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի Յունիս 1ին պատկերասփռուելիք դրամահաւաքին՝ թելեթոնին, ի նպաստ կազմակերպուող հաւաքներու շարքին, տէր եւ տիկին Զարեհ եւ Մելինա Իսախանեանները իրենց բնակարանէն ներս իրականացուցած են յաջող ձեռնարկ մը, որուն մասնակցած են համայնքային ղեկավարներ ու ընտրեալ պաշտօնատարներ՝ անգամ մը եւս լուսարձակի տակ առնելով հետզհետէ աճող ամերիկահայութեան վարկը եւ ազդեցութիւնը:
«Պատիւն ունինք մեր բնակարանը ու սիրտերը բանալու՝ Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբին նեցուկ կանգնելու նպատակին, յատկապէս նկատի ունենալով, որ Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբը առաջատար դերակատարութիւն ունի համայնքի բարելաւման ու յատկապէս հայ երիտասարդութեան յառաջդիմութեան յաւելեալ առիթներ ապահովելու աշխատանքին մէջ, Հարաւային Քալիֆորնիոյ եւ ամբողջ Միացեալ Նահանգներու տարածքին: Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի ուժը կու գայ մեր համայնքէն եւ այս երեկոն դրական ցուցանիշ մըն է Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի համակիրներուն ընդարձակուելու եւ տարատեսակ ըլլալու իրականութեան», այս առթիւ յայտնած են Իսախանեանները:
Երեկոյի ընթացքին, Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի թելեթոնի յանձնախումբի ատենապետ Սթիւ Արթինեան ու համայնքի ղեկավարներէն Արիկ Գէորգեան շեշտեցին թելեթոնին առաւելագոյն յաջողութիւնը ապահովելու կարեւորութիւնը, որպէսզի կարելի ըլլայ առաւել նպաստ բերել Հայաստանի, Արցախի եւ սփիւռքահայութեան:
Արթինեան նաեւ շնորհակալութիւն յայտնեց հիւրընկալ ամոլին՝ նշելեով, որ նման հաւաքներ կը նպաստեն ոչ միայն Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբին, այլ՝ ամբողջ հայութեան հզօրացման:
Ձեռնարկին ներկայ էին նաեւ Կլենտէյլի քաղաքապետական խորհուրդի անդամ Արա Նաճարեան եւ Կլենտէյլի միացեալ կրթաշրջանի վարչութեան ատենապետուհի Նայիրի Նահապետեան:
Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի հիմնադրամը նեցուկ կը կանգնի կրթական, երիտասարդական ու քաղաքացիական շարք մը ծրագիրներու՝ գլխաւոր նպատակ ունենալով ազդու կերպով տարածել ամերիկահայութեան ձայնն ու տեսակէտները, զօրացնելով ամերիկեան քաղաքացիական կեանքին մէջ հայութեան ներկայութիւնը, միաժամանակ՝ դէմ դնելով հայ ազգի շահերուն դէմ գործող ուժերուն:
