Գրեթէ տասնամեակէ մը ի վեր, վարժողական ծրագիրին մասնակցող ուսանողները առիթը կ՛ունենան մօտէն ծանօթանալու ամերիկահայութիւնը յուզող հարցերուն եւ կազմակերպչական աշխատանքին։ Շարք մը հետաքրքրական աշխատանիստերու եւ աշխատանքի կարելիութիւններու շնորհիւ, ծրագիրի մասնակիցներուն ղեկավարման ձիրքերը կը զարգացնան եւ անոնք յատկանշական փորձառութիւն կ՛ապահովեն՝ աշխատելով հայկական կազմակերպութեանց հետ:

ANCA-Glendale Internship
The ANCA-Glendale Internship is a selective part-time program that provides student leaders with the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of local Armenian-American issues, while contributing to the organization’s broader advocacy pursuits. The program immerses students to the inner governing structures of Glendale, and provides the leadership training skills needed to compliment and shape their future political, and community organizing ambitions. In addition to networking with community leaders, interns participate in workshops featuring a variety of guest speakers including Glendale public officials, ANCA leadership, and specialists from the community. Summer interns will increase their knowledge of the history of the ANCA, the local elections process, grassroots community organizing, while gaining professional skills such as public speaking, event planning, resume building, and media training.
Workshops with local officials and other community activists are held on a weekly basis. Former guest speakers have included ANCA National and Western Region board member Raffi Hamparian; City of Glendale Mayor Ara Najarian and City Council members Paula Devine and Zareh Sinanyan; GUSD Board of Education member Nayiri Nahabedian; Glendale City Clerk Ardashes Kassakhian; Glendale News Press columnist Katherine Yamada; former ANCA-Professional Network chairman Vicken Chitilian; Sedna Solutions founder Shant Sahakian; Asbarez English editor Ara Khachatourian; Oragark editor Zareh Adjemian; in addition to field visits to Horizon Television, Glendale City Hall, and Glendale Police Department.

Qualifications and Requirements:
– Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 21
– Complete 10-15 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends
– Have a valid driver’s license
(exceptions made in special circumstances)
