On November 7, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, along with MPP’s Aris Babikian and Christina Mitas, met with Toronto community Leaders Sevag Kupelian (President of the Armenian Community Centre of Toronto), Harout Matossian (chairman of the Armenian National Committee of Toronto) and community activist and benefactor Simon Hasserjian at Queen’s Park.
During the meeting, discussions were held on many issues of interest to Ontarians and the Armenian community. Among them were the pending grant application to expand the AYC (Armenian Youth Centre- Հայ Երիտասարդական Կեդրոն), the inclusion of Genocide and Human Rights Education in the Ontario school curriculum, and the active participation of the Armenian community in provincial politics and elections.
The premier expressed his continued commitment to support issues of interest to the Armenian community and promised to work closely with the community representatives.
