Brussels, 07 March 2019.-  On Thursday 7 March 2019, on the initiative of the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy (EAFJD), a meeting between Members of the European Parliament from the EU-Armenia friendship group and the delegation led by the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh Ashot Ghoulyan took place at the European Parliament.

The participants in the meeting were MEP Eleni Theocharous (ECR, Cyprus, President of the EU-Armenia friendship group), MEP Charles Tannock (ECR, UK), MEP Csaba Sogor (EPP, Romania), MEP Eleftherios Synadinos (NA, Greece), Dustin Hoffmann head of the office of MEP Martin Sonneborn (NA, Germany), Belgian lawmaker André du Bus, EAFJD President Kaspar Karampetian, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh Ashot Ghoulyan and deputy minister of foreign affairs of Artsakh Armine Alexanyan.

Ways of more active cooperation between members of the friendship group and Artsakh parliament were discussed during the meeting. Other subjects of discussion were the current situation on the Karabagh-Azerbaijan borders, the protection of the right for self-determination of the people of Artsakh and the absolute necessity to taking into account their voice of the in the negotiation process.

EAFJD president Kaspar Karampetian highlighted the importance of such meetings and said: “This meeting comes as an additional contribution in the fight against the isolation of the people of Artsakh Republic imposed by the Azerbaijani regime. Today, the democratically elected president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh is received in the European Parliament by the EU-Armenia friendship group and had also a meeting with the vice president of the parliament MEP Sylvie Guillaume (S&D, France), but we will continue initiating more delegation of MEPs visiting Nagorno Karabakh in the near future in order to give them the opportunity to obtain much needed first-source information.”

Հանդիպում Եվրախորհրդարանում Արցախի ԱԺ նախագահի և Հայաստանի հետ բարեկամության խմբի պատգամավորների միջև

ՀՅԴ Եվրոպայի Հայ Դատի գրասենյակի նախաձեռնությամբ և կազմակերպչական աջակցությամբ` Եվրախորհրդարանում տեղի ունեցավ հանդիպում Արցախի Հանրապետության Ազգային ժողովի նախագահ Աշոտ Ղուլյանի և Եվրախորհրդարանում Հայաստանի հետ բարեկամության խմբի պատգամավորների միջև:

ՀՅԴ Եվրոպայի Հայ Դատի հանձնախմբի նախագահ Գասպար Կարապետյանն ընդգծեց նման հանդիպումների կարևորությունը և նշեց. «Այս հանդիպումը լրացուցիչ ներդրում է ադրբեջանական ռեժիմի կողմից Արցախի ժողովրդի մեկուսացման դեմ պայքարում: Այսօր Արցախի Հանրապետության` ժողովրդավարական կերպով ընտրված Ազգային ժողովի նախագահն ընդունվել է Եվրախորհրդարանում Եվրամիություն-Հայաստան բարեկամության խմբի կողմից եւ միևնույն ժամանակ հանդիպում է ունեցել խորհրդարանի փոխնախագահ Սիլվի Գիյոմիի հետ (Ֆրանսիա): Մենք կշարունակենք մոտ ապագայում նախաձեռնել Արցախի Հանրապետություն այցելող եվրապատգամավորների ավելի մեծ պատվիրակություն, որպեսզի նրանց հնարավորություն ընձեռվի ձեռք բերելու անհրաժեշտ տեղեկատվություն հենց աղբյուրից»:
