From June 10 to 12, 2017, Hisyar Ozsoy, vice co-chair of the People’s Democratic Party of Turkey (HDP) and the party’s foreign affairs critic discussed the current political situation in Turkey and the ongoing persecution of minorities at a series of community events in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. The events were jointly organized by the Canadian Kurdish Federation (CKF) and the Armenian National Committee of Canada (ANCC).
During his speech in Montreal, Mr. Ozsoy said “Times are difficult and challenging but we will survive despite all the hardships imposed by the Erdogan regime”
“5000 members of my party are in prison today, and I will get arrested when I get back to Turkey as well. However, I refuse to hide in another country. I need to be there with my people. I still have wok to do” concluded Ozsoy.
At each event, Mr. Ozsoy spoke of the aftermath of the constitutional referendum and the ongoing uncertainty and concern regarding the rights and freedoms of the minorities living in Turkey today. He specifically stressed the importance of raising international awareness and ensuring that western powers categorically condemn Turkish President Recep Tayipp Erdogan’s misconducts and actively engage in empowering civil society in Turkey.
On Monday, June 12, Mr. Ozsoy, met with Canadian Members of Parliament and various officials representing the Government of Canada at special meetings organized by Mr. Tom Kmiec, member of parliament for Calgary Shepard and chair of the Kurdish-Canadian Parliamentary Friendship Group. During the meetings, Mr. Ozsoy, accompanied by Mr. Abraham Niziblian, executive member of the ANCC and Mr. Gurkan Ormangoren, co-chair of CKF, discussed Canada’s responsibility to protect human rights of minorities in Turkey.
“We highly appreciate and commend the unwavering commitment displayed by Mr. Ozsoy and his party in promoting tolerance and human rights for ethnic minorities in Turkey” said Mr. Raffi Donabedian, chair of the ANCC. “Our expectation is for our government and for the entire international community to become more engaged and actively pursue efforts to promote human rights and justice in Turkey, especially at a time when the current regime is descending into absolute autocracy” added Donabedian.
Commenting on the events, Mr. Gurkan Ormangoran, co-chair of the Canadian Kurdish Federation noted “The mistreatment of the Kurdish minority and all other minorities in Turkey today has reached alarming levels and therefore, Mr. Ozsoy’s appeal in Canada and elsewhere is more relevant than ever”
Hisyar Ozsoy is a ranking member of the HDP and a long-time activist for human rights issues in Turkey and around the world. Ozsoy was first elected as an MP from his hometown Bingol on June 7th, 2015. He was re-elected on November 1st, 2015. Ozsoy is currently serving as the vice co-chair of the HDP, in charge of foreign affairs and a member of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT). He is also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA) and a substitute member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
Des événements communautaires spéciaux et rencontres avec le parlementaire turc Hisyar Ozsoy À Toronto, Montréal et Ottawa
Du 10 au 12 juin, le vice-président du Parti populaire démocratique de Turquie (PPD) et responsable des affaires étrangères du parti M. Hisyar Ozsoy, a discuté de la situation politique actuelle en Turquie et de la persécution continue des minorités lors d’une série d’événements communautaires à Toronto et Montréal. Les événements ont été organisés conjointement par la Fédération canadienne kurde (FCK) et le Comité national arménien du Canada (CNAC).
Lors de son discours à Montréal, M. Ozsoy a déclaré : “Les temps sont très difficiles pour les minorités en Turquie, mais malgré toutes les difficultés imposées par le régime d’Erdogan nous survivrons”.
“ 5000 membres de mon parti sont en prison aujourd’hui, et je serai probablement arrêté quand je retournerais en Turquie. Cependant, je refuse de me cacher dans un autre pays. Je dois être là avec mon peuple. J’ai encore du travail à faire” a conclu M. Ozsoy.
Au cours de chacun des événements communautaires à Montréal et Toronto, M. Ozsoy a parlé des conséquences du référendum constitutionnel et de l’incertitude et des préoccupations persistantes concernant les droits et libertés des minorités vivant aujourd’hui en Turquie. Il a spécifiquement souligné l’importance de sensibiliser la communauté internationale et de veiller à ce que les puissances occidentales condamnent catégoriquement les inconduites du président turc Recep Tayipp Erdogan et s’engagent activement à renforcer la société civile en Turquie.
Lundi le 12 juin, à Ottawa, M. Ozsoy, a rencontré des députés canadiens et divers fonctionnaires représentant le gouvernement du Canada lors de réunions spéciales organisées par M. Tom Kmiec, député à la chambre de commune et président du Groupe d’amitié parlementaire kurde-canadien. M. Ozsoy, accompagné de M. Abraham Niziblian, membre du CNAC et de M. Gurkan Ormangoren, coprésident du FKC, a discuté de la responsabilité du Canada de protéger les droits de l’homme des minorités en Turquie.
“Nous apprécions énormément l’engagement inébranlable manifesté par M. Ozsoy et son parti de promouvoir la tolérance et le respect des droits de l’homme des minorités ethniques en Turquie”, a déclaré M. Raffi Donabedian, président du CNAC. “Notre attente est que notre gouvernement, ainsi que toute la communauté internationale s’engagent davantage à poursuivre activement les efforts pour promouvoir les droits de l’homme et la justice en Turquie, en particulier à un moment où le régime devient une autocratie absolue” a conclu M. Raffi Donabedian, président du CNAC.
En commentant la visite du parlementaire, M. Gurkan Ormangoran, coprésident de la Fédération canadienne démocratique kurde, a noté : “Le mauvais traitement de la minorité kurde et de toutes les autres minorités en Turquie a atteint aujourd’hui des niveaux alarmants et, par conséquent, les témoignages de M. Ozsoy au Canada et partout ailleurs sont plus pertinents que jamais ”.
Hisyar Ozsoy est un membre proéminent du Parti populaire démocratique de Turquie et militant de longue date pour les droits de l’homme en Turquie et dans le monde entier. Ozsoy a été élu député de sa ville natale de Bingol le 7 juin 2015. Il a été réélu le 1er novembre 2015. Ozsoy est actuellement vice-coprésident du PPD, porte-parole en matière des affaires étrangères et membre de la Commission des affaires étrangères de la Grande Assemblée nationale de Turquie (GANT). Il est également membre de l’Assemblée parlementaire de l’Organisation pour la sécurité et la coopération en Europe (OSCE PA) et membre suppléant de l’Assemblée parlementaire du Conseil de l’Europe (APCE).
HDP-ի փոխ նախագահ Հիսիար Օզսոյ Մոնթրէալի մէջ յայտարարեց, որ Թուրքիա կրնայ երկրորդ Սուրիոյ մը վերածուիլ
(ՀՈՐԻԶՈՆ ՇԱԲԱԹԱԹԵՐԹ, Յունիս 12) Յունիս 11-ին, Մոնթրէալի մէջ կազմակերպուած զեկուցական հաւաքի մը ընթացքին Թուրքիոյ Ժողովուրդներու Ժողովրդավար կուսակցութեան փոխ համանախագահ Հիսիար Օզսոյ ներկայացուց Թուրիոյ ներքաղաքական իրավիճակը եւ խստօրէն քննադատեց Էրտողանի վարած բռնատիրական վարքագիծն ու ազգայնապաշտ քաղաքականութիւնը։
Հաւաքը կազմակերպուած էր Գանատայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբին եւ Գանատայի Քրտական Դաշնակցութեան կողմէ։ Մոնթրէալի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի ատենապետ Արփի Պալիօզեան բացումը կատարեց հանդիսութեան եւ ապա խօսքը փոխանցեց Գանատայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի Արարատ Թորոսեանին։ Անդրադառնալով Թուրքիոյ մէջ տիրող կացութեան Արարատ Թորոսեան լուսաձակի տակ առաւ Անգարայի իշխանութեանց հալածանքներն ու բռնարարքերը քիւրտ քաղաքական դէմքերուն դէմ։ Քեպէգի Քրտական Հիմնարկին կողմէ Խօսք առաւ Ասլիհան Օզթուրք, որ յայտնեց թէ ինչպէս 100 տարի առաջ հայեր ցեղասպանութեան զօհ կ՚երթային, այսօր այդ սպանդներն ու ցեղասպանութիւնը կը շարունակուին քիւրտերուն դէմ։
Արփի Պալիօզեան ներկայացուց պրն. Օզսայի հակիրճ կենսագրութիւնը, նշելով որ ան ասպարէզով Ընկերաբան է եւ իր տոքթորական վկայականը ստացած է Միացեալ նահանգներու Թեքսասի համալսարանէն։ 2011-2015 դասաւանդած է Միշիկընի համալսարանին մէջ։ 2015-ի Նոյեմբերին Թուրքիոյ մէջ կայացած ընտրութիւններուն Պինկէօլի շրջանէն խորհրդարանի անդամ ընտրուած է։ Ժողովուրդներու Ժողովրդավար կուսակցութեան Խորհրդարանի արտաքին յարաբերութեանց յանձնաժողովի ատենապետն է ինչպէս նաեւ իր կուսակցութեան փոխ համանախագահ է։
Օզսոյ ընդհանուր գիծերու մէջ ներկայացուց թուրքիոյ վերջին երկու տարիներու քաղաքական իրավիճակը, յատկապէս ծանրանալով 2016-ի Յուլիսեան յեղաշրջումի ձախող փորձէն ետք երկրին մէջ սկիզբ առած լայնածաւալ հակաքրտական հալածանքներուն։ Ան նշեց, որ ներկայ դրութեամբ, իր կուսակցութեան նախագահն ու քրտական բնակավայրերու 86 քաղաքապետներ բանտարկուած են։ Հակաքրտական իր արշաւանքին համար Էրտողան կ՚օգտագործէ բանակն ու ոստիկանութիւնը, որոնք ներկայ դրութեամբ ամբողջութեամբ իր հակաշռին տակ կը գտնուին։
Օզսոյ Թուրքիոյ ազգայնամոլ ղեկավարութեան անցեալի եւ ներկայի վարքագիծը վերլուծեց յայտնելով, որ այս քաղաքական վարքագիծը հիմնուած է ժխտողականութեան եւ ուրացման վրայ. Այնպէս ինչպէս աւելի քան հարիւր տարիէ ի վեր Անգարա կը ժխտէ Հայոց Ցեղասպանութիւնը, նոյնպէս ալ հարիւր տարիէ ի վեր կ՚ուրանայ Թուրքիոյ քիւրտերու գոյութիւնը։ Օզսոյ իր խօսքը եզրափակեց ըսելով, որ այս բեւեռացած կացութիւնը եթէ շարունակուի՝ մեծ են հաւանականութիւնները որ Թուրքիա երկրորդ Սուրիոյ մը վերածուի։ Զեկոյցի աւարտին կայացաւ հարց-պատասխանի բաժինը։
