GLENDALE—After an unprecedented legislative year in 2015 for the Armenian American community, activists from across California will join the Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region (ANCA-WR), the California State Legislature, and the CA Armenian Legislative Caucus led by Assemblymembers Katcho Achadjian, Adrin Nazarian, Scott Wilk and Senate President Pro Tempore Kevin De León in commemorating the 101st Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide at the State Capitol in Sacramento on Monday, April 18, 2016. On the same day, the ANCA-WR will host its annual CA Advocacy Day, which will include meeting opportunities with state legislators and events around the capitol.
“The ANCA-WR looks forward to providing this unique opportunity to our community members to visit the Golden State’s Capitol and be civically engaged in promoting issues of concern and importance before elected officials. Our successful annual advocacy days throughout the region are a testament of the commitment from our grassroots to bringing the Armenian Cause and the united voice of the Armenian-American community to the frontline of the legislative agenda” said Elen Asatryan, ANCA-WR Executive Director.
Historically, Advocacy Day has attracted hundreds of activists from across California and has served as an important opportunity to educate, motivate and activate advocates on the legislative process as well as issues that will impact Armenian Americans living in the Golden State. ՍԱՔՐԱՄԵՆԹՕ.- Արեւմտեան Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբին նախաձեռնութեամբ եւ նահանգային խորհրդարանին, ինչպէս նաեւ անոր Հայկական օրէնսդրական համախմբումին համագործակցութեամբ (գլխաւորութեամբ՝ Խաչօ Աշաճեանի, Ատրին Նազարեանի, Սքաթ Ուիլքի եւ Քեվըն Տէ Լիոնի), այս տարի եւս Քալիֆորնիոյ մայրաքաղաք Սաքրամենթոյի մէջ քաղաքական հանդիպումներու եւ ձեռնարկներու շարք մը տեղի պիտի ունենայ, Հայոց Ցեղասպանութեան 101ամեակը ոգեկոչելու եւ Հայ Դատին ի նպաստ քարոզչութիւն կատարելու նպատակով:
Այս տարի, Սաքրամենթոյի մէջ Հայ Դատի ջատագովումն ու Ցեղասպանութեան ոգեկոչման ձեռնարկը տեղի պիտի ունենան Երկուշաբթի, Ապրիլ 18ին։
2002էն ի վեր, նահանգի զանազան շրջաններէն հարիւրաւոր հայորդիներ կը հաւաքուին Սաքրամենթօ, Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբին, Քալիֆորնիոյ նահանգային խորհրդարանին ու Ծերակոյտի անդամներուն հետ ոգեկոչելու համար Ցեղասպանութեան զոհերու յիշատակը եւ խորհրդակցելու համար հայութիւնը յուզող շարք մը հարցերու շուրջ:
Արեւմտեան Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի գործադիր վարիչ Էլէն Ասատրեան կը յայտնէ, թէ այս հաւաքները իւրայատուկ առիթներ են հայութեան ձայնը լսելի դարձնելու համար՝ մայրաքաղաքի քաղաքական շրջանակներէն ներս:
Քալիֆորնիոյ խորհրդարանին եւ Ծերակոյտին մէջ կայանալիք ոգեկոչման ձեռնարկներուն ընթացքին ելոյթներ պիտի ունենան խորհրդարանի անդամներ ու ծերակուտականներ, որոնցմէ ետք պիտի վաւերացուին Հայոց Ցեղասպանութեան ճանաչումը պահանջող բանաձեւեր, ապա հաւաքի մասնակիցները առիթ պիտի ունենան խորհրդակցելու խորհրդարանականներուն եւ ծերակուտականներուն հետ:
