WASHINGTON—The Armenian National Committee of America recently hosted a policy briefing for Armenian American community leaders by the State Department’s bureaus of Near Eastern Affairs and Population, Migration & Refugees regarding the unfolding security and humanitarian crisis facing the Armenian population of Syria.
The off-the-record July 11 briefing, held in the Aramian Conference room, covered a broad range of longstanding Armenian American concerns, including those related to humanitarian aid, resettlement assistance, Turkey’s role in the attack on Kessab, and, most recently, ongoing rocket assaults on Armenian neighborhoods in Aleppo.
