Over the last two weeks, we had the opportunity to meet with a variety of public officials to discuss pertinent issues to the Armenian-American community, and also to spearhead projects such as weekly video blogs and graphics for the ANCA-WR’s online presence. Apart from that, we spent a lot of time at the office reaching out to coalition partners and politicians who support pro-Armenian activism. We have also been promoting the ANCA-WR’s annual gala on October 8, 2017 which is the organization’s most prominent event of the year.
Over the past few weeks we have had the honor of meeting with numerous elected officials. They included Montebello Councilmember Jack Hadjinian, Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Krekorian, Los Angeles Superior Court Judges Zaven Sinanian and Kevin Brazile, City Clerk Ardashes Kassakhian, and Congressman Adam Schiff. These meetings have been eye-opening for us as they have made their way through the doors of multiple city halls and meetings with various public officials.
We had multiple workshops intended to help us move forward with our careers. They included a workshop on resume building, politics in the media, digital marketing, lobbying, and how to write press releases. As we continue to work on behalf of the ANCA-WR, we are simultaneously acquiring professional skills which will prepare us for future leadership. Want to keep up with our weekly adventures? Every week there will be a vlog which will show you our perspectives as to the ongoings of ANCA.
