(PRENSA ARMENIA, 9 de Mayo) El Genocidio Armenio se conmemoró en toda la República Argentina con distintas resoluciones en legislaturas y actos durante el mes de abril.
En la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, la Legislatura declaró de interés “para la promoción y defensa de los derechos humanos” el acto central “por la conmemoración del Genocidio Armenio perpetrado por el Estado turco, que se realizará el próximo 24 de abril bajo la consigna ‘memoria, verdad, justicia y reparación'” durante la sesión del jueves 20 de abril, por iniciativa del legislador José Campagnoli con coautoría de Carlos Tomada. El 24 de abril se realizó el acto central y marcha hacia a la residencia de la embajadora turca. Durante la misa previa, la vicepresidenta Gabriela Michetti manifestó que “el genocidio fue reconocido por nuestro país en 2007 por la Ley 26.199” y que “recordar el Genocidio Armenio hoy nos ayuda a que nunca más vuelvan a suceder este tipo de atrocidades en la historia de la humanidad”.
La Cámara de Diputados de Chaco, mediante la resolución 242, estableció la conmemoración del Día de Acción por la Tolerancia y el Respeto entre los Pueblos, el 24 de abril de 2017 y resolvió “adherir a los actos oficiales a efectos de promover espacios de reflexión y repudiar el genocidio perpetrado contra el Pueblo Armenio por parte del Estado Turco-Otomano, especialmente el 24 de abril de 1915”.
La Cámara de Diputados de la provincia de Buenos Aires, por iniciativa de la diputada Karina Nazábal, decidió acompañar “las actividades realizadas por las distintas instituciones de la comunidad armenia en la provincia de Buenos Aires”.
El martes 25 de abril se realizó un acto conmemorativo en el Salón de las Provincias del Palacio del Congreso de la Nación, donde se inauguró también la muestra “100 años, 100 historias”, un evento organizado por la senadora Miriam Boyadjian junto a la Embajada de la República Armenia y la Fundación Memoria del Genocidio Armenio.
Desde el Parlasur, que se reunió en sesión plenaria en Montevideo, se rindió homenaje por los 102 de la tragedia. “El pueblo armenio no olvida y nosotros tampoco. Ese genocidio fue doloroso, tanto que nos sigue golpeando hoy en nuestros sentimientos”, dijo el diputado Alberto Asseff durante la sesión.
En Córdoba hubo una marcha y acto con presencia de autoridades provinciales, donde la diputada y oradora del evento Brenda Austin, manifestó su deseo de que el pueblo armenio, “encuentre de una vez y para siempre, la paz que otorga la justicia. Deseo de corazón, que el pueblo armenio encuentre en sus tierras la paz para habitarlas, en Armenia y en Nagorno Karabaj”. Los Concejos Deliberantes de las ciudades de Córdoba y Villa Carlos Paz conmemoraron también el aniversario.
En Rosario se inauguró un memorial en un espacio cedido por la Municipalidad de Rosario, se realizó un acto con autoridades provinciales y se inauguró un espacio permanente sobre el Genocidio Armenio en el Museo de la Memoria.
El miércoles 19, se llevó a cabo una charla abierta en el Espacio Memoria y Derechos Humanos (ex ESMA) para celebrar el décimo aniversario de la sanción de la Ley 26.199 por la que el Estado argentino reconoció el Genocidio Armenio con Jorge Taiana, vicepresidente del Parlasur, Pedro Mouratian, experto consultor del Alto Comisionado de Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos (ACNUDH) y Nicolás Sabuncuyan, director del Consejo Nacional Armenio de Argentina, y la participación de la presidenta de Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo, Estela de Carlotto, y organismos de derechos humanos.
El Concejo Deliberante de la Municipalidad de La Plata, “al cumplirse 102 años del inicio del impune genocidio del que fue víctima el pueblo armenio”, ratificó su “compromiso con la memoria activa y mantiene el reclamo hacia la comunidad internacional en pro del reconocimiento de este hecho perpetrado en contra de la población civil armenia entre 1915 y 1923”. En el Concejo Deliberante de Mar del Plata también se conmemoró el genocidio. En Río Gallegos se proyectó la película “1915” del director Garin Hovannisian en el Espacio Cultural Malvinas el 23 de abril.
La Municipalidad de Vicente López organizó un acto el viernes 21 de abril bajo la iniciativa del intendente Jorge Macri, frente al Jachkar (cruz de piedra, un típico monumento armenio) inaugurado en enero de este año en el municipio.
El Municipio de Avellaneda también realizó un acto con el intendente Jorge Ferraresi en el espacio de la memoria El Infierno el 26 de abril por el 102º aniversario del Genocidio Armenio y el 10º aniversario de la Ley 26.199. El evento contó con la participación de Pedro Mouratian, Nicolás Sabuncuyan y Claudio Yacoy, Secretario de Derechos Humanos de la Municipalidad de Avellaneda.
The Commemorations of the Armenian Genocide in Argentina during April
(PRENSA ARMENIA, May 9) The Armenian Genocide was commemorated all over Argentina with different resolutions in legislatures and acts during the month of April.
In the City of Buenos Aires, the Legislature declared of “interest” the central act for the commemoration of the Armenian Genocide during the session of Thursday, April 20, at the initiative of the legislator Jose Campagnoli with co-author of Carlos Tomada. On April 24 the central event was held and the community rallied to the residence of the Turkish Ambassador. During the previous Mass, Vice President Gabriela Michetti stated that “the genocide was recognized by our country in 2007 by Law 26.199” and that “remembering the Armenian Genocide today helps us to never let this type of atrocities happen again in the history of humanity.”
The Chamber of Deputies of the province of Chaco established the commemoration of April 24 and resolved to “join official acts in order to promote spaces for reflection and to repudiate the genocide perpetrated against the Armenian People by the Turkish-Ottoman state.”
The Chamber of Deputies of the province of Buenos Aires, on the initiative of the deputy Karina Nazabal, decided to accompany “the activities carried out by the various institutions of the Armenian community in the province of Buenos Aires.”
On April 25, a commemorative ceremony was held in the Hall of the Provinces of the National Congress Palace, where the exhibition “100 years, 100 stories” was inaugurated, an event organized by Senator Miriam Boyadjian with the Embassy Of the Armenian Republic and the Memorial Foundation of the Armenian Genocide.
The Parlasur, which met in plenary session in Montevideo, paid homage for the 102 of the tragedy. “The Armenian people do not forget and neither do I. That genocide was painful, so much so that it continues to hit us today in our feelings,” said Deputy Alberto Asseff during the session.
In Cordoba there was a march and act with presence of provincial authorities, where the deputy and speaker of the event Deputy Brenda Austin, expressed her desire that the Armenian people, “once and for all, find the peace that gives justice”. “I warmly hope that the Armenian people will find in their lands peace To inhabit them, in Armenia and Karabakh,” added Austin, who was one of the observers in Artsakh’s latest constitutional referendum. The Deliberative Councils of the cities of Cordoba and Villa Carlos Paz also commemorated the anniversary.
In Rosario, province of Santa Fe, a memorial was inaugurated in a space ceded by the Municipality of Rosario, an act was held with provincial authorities and a permanent space on the Armenian Genocide was inaugurated in the Museum of Memory.
On Wednesday 19, an open discussion was held in the Memory and Human Rights Space (former Higher School of Mechanics of the Navy – ESMA) to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the enactment of Law 26.199, in which the Argentine State recognized the Armenian Genocide, with Jorge Taiana, vice president of the Parlasur, Pedro Mouratian, consultant to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and Nicolas Sabuncuyan, director of the Armenian National Committee of Argentina, and the participation of the President of Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, Estela de Carlotto, and Human Rights organizations.
The Deliberative Council of the Municipality of La Plata, “celebrating the 102th anniversary of the beginning of the unpunished genocide of which the Armenian people suffered,” reaffirmed its “commitment to active memory and maintains the claim to the international community for the recognition of this fact perpetrated against the Armenian civilian population between 1915 and 1923.” In the Deliberative Council of Mar del Plata the genocide was also commemorated. In Rio Gallegos the film “1915” of the director Garin Hovannisian was projected in the Cultural Space Malvinas on April 23.
The Municipality of Vicente Lopez organized an event on Friday, April 21 under the initiative of Mayor Jorge Macri, in front of the Jachkar inaugurated in January of this year. The Municipality of Avellaneda also held an event with Mayor Jorge Ferraresi in El Infierno (The Hell) memory space on April 26 for the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and the 10th anniversary of Law 26,199.
