Brussels, 24 June, 2015: Zoe Konstantopoulou, President of the Hellenic Parliament, received a joint delegation of European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy<\/a> (EAFJD) and Armenian National Committee of Greece<\/a> (ANC Greece), comprised by EAFJD President Kaspar Karampetian, ANC Greece Chairman Hagop Hovaguimian, and ARF – Dashnaktsutyun Greece representative, Kerop Ekizian. Giorgos Thalassis, Secretary General of the Hellenic Parliament, was present, as well.<\/p>\n

The President of the Hellenic Parliament reaffirmed, that in October 2015 an exhibition will take place to commemorate the centennary of the Armenian Genocide, in the premises of the Parliament, and that she looks forward to having the Republic of Armenia National Assembly Speaker Galust Sahakyan, as well as Armenian and Greek high ranking officials. The Armenian delegation offered its readiness to assist in the realization of this exhibition.<\/p>\n

The need to strengthen even more the good relations between Armenia and Greece were also discussed, and the formation of a Friendship Group between both, the Armenian and Greek Parliaments. The joint EAFJD ANC-Greece delegation offered its help in this matter, too.<\/p>\n

Issues of the Greek Armenian community’s difficulties were also discussed, especially the financial hardship of the educational institutes. Zoe Konstantopoulou promised to assist the community to find solutions, for the Armenian schools to continue to operate.<\/p>\n

The President of the Hellenic Parliament once again affirmed the undeniable fact of the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by Ottoman Turkey, and the readiness of the Greek Parliament to assist the Armenian people in their struggle for Justice.<\/p>\n

An exchange of views took place in regard to the Greek financial crisis, as well as the reparations of Germany to Greece, in regard to the damages inflicted on Greece during World War II.<\/p>\n

Zoe Konstantopoulou was in Yerevan, on 24 April, 2015, during the official commemoration events of the Armenian Genocide centennary. During her visit in Armenia, she also met with ARF – Dashnaktsutyun Buro representatives.<\/p>\n
