Am 8. Oktober 2014 fand in der Diplomatischen Akademie eine Veranstaltung mit dem Botschafter der T\u00fcrkei statt. Anwesend waren zahlreiche Vertreter aus der Wirtschaft und der Politik.
\nDer neue t\u00fcrkische Botschafter sprach sich f\u00fcr einen Beitritt der T\u00fcrkei in die EU aus. Das Motto lautete: “T\u00fcrkei in Europa: Eine gemeinsame Geschichte, eine gemeinsame Zukunft”.
\nEr \u00e4u\u00dferte seine Unzufriedenheit \u00fcber die EU-Beitrittsverhandlungen und gab als Grund die doppelten Standards sowie die ver\u00e4nderten Spielregeln an. Au\u00dferdem fragte er nach einer konkrete Aufgabe, welches die T\u00fcrkei f\u00fcr eine Mitgliedschaft erf\u00fcllen m\u00fcsse.<\/p>\n

Das \u00d6sterreichisch Armenische Komitee f\u00fcr Gerechtigkeit und Demokratie<\/a> war durch Serge Derhagopian vertreten. Er warf die Frage auf, ob die doppelten Standards nicht etwa auf die Leugnung des armenischen Genozids und die unglaubw\u00fcrdige t\u00fcrkische Politik zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren sind? Weiters wies er darauf hin, dass die erste Hausaufgabe die Anerkennung des Genozids sein sollte.<\/p>\n

Nach dieser Aussage wurden eine Reihe kritischer Fragen der t\u00fcrkischen Politik aufgeworfen (eingeschr\u00e4nkte Meinungsfreiheit, Konflikt in Zypern, Konflikt mit den Nachbarl\u00e4ndern, Kurdenkonflikt sowie die Unterst\u00fctzung der ISIS).<\/p>\n

Das \u00d6sterreichisch Armenische Komitee f\u00fcr Gerechtigkeit und Demokratie l\u00e4sst keine Gelegenheit aus, um der \u00f6sterreichische Gesellschaft unsere Anliegen n\u00e4her zu bringen.<\/p>\n

On the 8th of October 2014, the diplomatic academics of Vienna organized an event hosting the new ambassador of Turkey in Vienna.Among the guests were representatives of Austrian business and diplomatic communities.
\nThe new Turkish ambassador reiterated the willingness of Turkey to join the EU under the slogan: \u201eTurkey in Europe: A common history, a common future\u201c.
\nHe expressed his discontent concerning the EU membership negotiation process, qualifying it with double standard and changing game rules. Furthermore he asked for a concrete homework, Turkey must fulfill prior to EU membership.<\/p>\n

The Austrian Armenian Committee for Justice and Democracy was represented by Serge Derhagopian. He raised the question, whether the double standard in EU membership process does not correlate with the Turkish denial of Armenian Genocide and the low credibility of their policy? Also he pointed out, if there is a homework to be done by Turkey, that\u2019s the Armenian Genocide Recognition.<\/p>\n

Following this intervention, most of the raised questions were critical towards Turkey (lack of freedom of speech, Cyprus conflict, conflicts with neighbors, conflicts with Kurds and ISIS support).<\/p>\n
