The <!--more Continue reading \/ \u0531\u0574\u0562\u0578\u0572\u057b\u0568  \u2192--> newly elected President pro Tempore of the Senate, Kevin De Leon, will take office on October 15, 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe ANCA-WR congratulates Senate pro Tem elect De Leon on his new position,\u201d said <a title=\"ANCA WR\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ancawr.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Armenian National Committee of America \u2013 Western Region<\/a> chairwoman Nora Hovsepian. \u201cWe look forward to working with the California Senate under his leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De Leon currently represents a large number of Armenian-Americans in the 22nd district and has been a strong advocate of issues pertaining to the community, including Genocide recognition and the right to self-determination for the Republic of Artsakh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De Leon was joined by members of both houses as they took the podium to voice their strong support for his election as President pro Tem.
