Con una columna de gente que lleg\u00f3 a superar las tres cuadras, la comunidad armenia de Argentina record\u00f3, junto a otras organizaciones y militantes por los derechos humanos, el genocidio del que fue v\u00edctima su pueblo hace 99 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

La tradicional marcha, que se realiz\u00f3 como todos los a\u00f1os desde la Facultad de Derecho hasta la residencia del embajador de Turqu\u00eda, estuvo organizada y liderada por todas las organizaciones juveniles de la comunidad armenia, a un a\u00f1o de que se cumpla el centenario del genocidio armenio cometido por el Estado turco en 1915.<\/p>\n

Garo Seferian, miembro de la Uni\u00f3n Juventud Armenia<\/a> (UJA) habl\u00f3 en representaci\u00f3n de los j\u00f3venes de la comunidad, quienes denunciaron que Turqu\u00eda “sostiene una pol\u00edtica represiva contra su propio pueblo que ha comenzado a reclamar por reinvindicaciones sociales y contra organizaciones de derechos humanos turcas que se solidarizan con el genocidio armenio y otros cr\u00edmenes de lesa humanidad”, poniendo como ejemplo “el cierre de Youtube y Twitter<\/a>“.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, se record\u00f3 que “el Estado turco no est\u00e1 solo en esta avanzada xen\u00f3foba “, ya que “Azerbaiy\u00e1n, su incondicional aliado” mantiene “la misma idea de limpieza \u00e9tnica” contra los armenios. “Recientemente, el presidente de Azerbaiy\u00e1n declar\u00f3 que sus enemigos son los armenios de todo el mundo, amenazando de este modo a ciudadanos de origen armenio de los diferentes pa\u00edses. El acto tambi\u00e9n cont\u00f3 con la presencia de Mehmet Dogan, un periodista kurdo defensor de los derechos humanos, y Ra\u00fal Porchetto, quien cant\u00f3 el himno argentino al comienzo y cerr\u00f3 la noche con un recital.<\/p>\n

Con importantes demostraciones en distintas ciudades, Buenos Aires no fue la excepci\u00f3n, y al igual que otros a\u00f1os la importante comunidad local realiz\u00f3 una serie de actividades conmemorativas.<\/p>\n

El d\u00eda comenz\u00f3 con una misa en la Catedral de la Iglesia Apost\u00f3lica Armenia San Gregorio el Iluminador, y luego se realiz\u00f3 un acto del que participaron como oradores el embajador de Armenia en Argentina, Vahagn Melikian, el Dr. Leandro Despouy, presidente de la Auditor\u00eda General de la Naci\u00f3n, y Ragip Zarakolu, activista y disidente turco.<\/p>\n

Despouy destac\u00f3 que “la memoria es un valor cultural y jur\u00eddico. Estas son conquistas de la humanidad en las cuales la lucha del pueblo armenio ha sido una parte importante para cimentar las conquistas actuales de la memoria\u201d, mientras que Zarakolu se refiri\u00f3 a las condolencias<\/a> que dio el Primer Ministro turco, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, al pueblo armenio, calific\u00e1ndolas como insuficientes y oportunistas. Melikian dijo que “nuestra herida est\u00e1 abierta y as\u00ed quedara en tanto Turqu\u00eda no reconozca y condene el genocidio cometido contra nuestro pueblo”.<\/p>\n

Estuvieron presentes el presidente del Partido Socialista, Hermes Binner, el diputado por Unidad Popular, Claudio Lozano, el diputado del Frente para la victoria, Horacio Pietragalla, el diputado de Nuevo Encuentro, Carlos Raimundi, la presidenta de Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo, Estela de Carlotto, el interventor del INADI, Pedro Mouratian, el presidente de la APDH, Aldo Etchegoyen, autoridades religiosas de la comunidad y directivos de diferentes organizaciones.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, el canal p\u00fablico INCAA TV proyect\u00f3, por iniciativa del Consejo Nacional Armenio (CNA) la pel\u00edcula \u201cArarat\u201d del director canadiense Atom Egoyan, que aborda la tem\u00e1tica del genocidio desde una mirada actual. El pr\u00f3ximo martes, a las 19 hs, en el Sal\u00f3n de los Pasos Perdidos del Congreso Nacional, el CNA realizar\u00e1 un acto del que participar\u00e1n como oradores los diputados Cristina Ziebart y Carlos Raimundi, el senador Rub\u00e9n Giustiniani y el Subsecretario de Equidad y Calidad Educativa del Ministerio de la Naci\u00f3n, Gustavo Brener.<\/p>\n

En C\u00f3rdoba hubo una marcha y un evento al que asisti\u00f3 la vicegobernadora a cargo del ejecutivo, Alicia Pregno, mientras que la Legislatura Provincial adhiri\u00f3 a los actos conmemorativos.<\/p>\n

Desde las redes sociales, la juventud de la comunidad armenia organiz\u00f3 una campa\u00f1a<\/a> en Twitter con el hashtag #GenocidioArmenio, que logr\u00f3 ser tendencia durante la ma\u00f1ana del mi\u00e9rcoles.<\/p>\n

Actividades en R\u00edo Gallegos por el 99\u00b0 aniversario<\/h4>\n

La Comunidad Armenia de R\u00edo Gallegosconmemorar\u00e1 el 99\u00b0 aniversario del genocidio<\/a> contra el pueblo armenio perpetrado por el Estado turco. Entre las actividades se destaca la proyecci\u00f3n del film\u00a0 documental \u201cScreamers\u201d(2006) de la directora Carla Garapetian, que toma la tem\u00e1tica de los genocidios, haciendo \u00e9nfasis en el Genocidio Armenio. La banda System of a Down, integrada por descendientes de armenios, es la encargada de denunciar estas atrocidades, durante una gira mundial. La presentacion se llevara a cabo en la\u00a0 Sala de Conferencias del Campus de la UNPA el viernes 25 de Abril a las 19 hs, con entrada libre y gratuita. Al finalizar, seg\u00fan informa Alejandro Avakian, delegado del CNA de Sudam\u00e9rica en Santa Cruz, se realizar\u00e1 un debate entre los asistentes.<\/p>\n

Asimismo, la comunidad participar\u00e1 en el Acto de izamiento Dominical de la Bandera, el domingo 27 de abril a las 12hs. en la intersecci\u00f3n de Roca y San Mart\u00edn, donde se recordar\u00e1 en efem\u00e9rides el 99\u00ba aniversario del Genocidio Armenio. Estas actividades son de suma importancia ya que evidencian el fortalecimiento de las comunidades armenias en diferentes puntos del pa\u00eds, con el horizonte de b\u00fasqueda de memoria, verdad y justicia, y con la vocaci\u00f3n de visibilizar hacia el resto de la sociedad esta y otras causas de Derechos Humanos.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, durante 24 de abril se concretaron reportajes en medios radiales y televisivos de la ciudad de R\u00edo Gallegos y la Provincia de Santa Cruz. (LU 12, LU 14, FM News, Canal 2 y Canal 9 en programa de inter\u00e9s general \u201cBien Temprano\u201d y el noticiero local) dando difusi\u00f3n al hecho hist\u00f3rico que se conmemoraba y a las actividades, tanto a la proyecci\u00f3n del documental como al tradicional izamiento de la bandera, del que participaron Concejales, Diputados Provinciales, Autoridades municipales y publico en general, junto a la Comunidad Armenia local.<\/p>\n

Massive rallies in South America to commemorate the Armenian Genocide<\/h4>\n

The 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was commemorated in major cities of South America.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>With a column of people that exceeded the three blocks, the Armenian community of Buenos Aires rallied on Thursday night, on one of the most massive demonstrations in the history of the community in Argentina.<\/p>\n

Garo Seferian, member of the Armenian Youth Federation<\/a>, spoke on behalf of the whole community youth, who denounced that Turkey “maintains a policy of repression against its own people that began to claim for social reinvindicaciones and against Turkish human rights organizations that showed solidarity with the Armenian Genocide and other crimes against humanity”.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, they noted that “the Turkish state is not alone in this xenophobic advanced” as “Azerbaijan, its unconditional ally” and maintains “the very idea of ethnic cleansing” against the Armenians. “Recently, the President of Azerbaijan stated that their enemies were Armenians worldwide, thus threatening the Armenian citizens of different countries”.<\/p>\n

In Buenos Aires, there was also a Mass at the Cathedral of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church, and then an event with Armenia’s Ambassador in Argentina Vahagn Melikian, President of the General Audit Office Dr. Leandro Despouy and Turkish activist and dissident Ragip Zarakolu. Despouy noted that “memory is a cultural and legal value. These are achievements of mankind in which the struggle of the Armenian people has been an important part to cement the gains of the current memory”, while Zarakolu referred to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan statement, in which he offered his condolences to the Armenian people, describing it as inadequate and opportunistic. Melikian stressed that “our wound is open and it will remain like that as long Turkey does not recognize and condemn the genocide committed against our people”. Politicians like Hermes Binner, Claudio Lozano, Horacio Pietragalla and Carlos Raimundi attended the event, as well as representatives of different organizations like Estela de Carlotto, Pedro Mouratian and Aldo Etchegoyen.<\/p>\n

In Cordoba, Argentina, there was also a rally, a commemorative event with deputy governor Alicia Pregno and the Provincial Legislature submitted its accession to the commemorative events of the Armenian Genocide.<\/p>\n

In Rosario, Argentina, where there is a smaller number of Armenians, there were activities in universities.<\/p>\n

In Montevideo, Uruguay, there was a rally, an act of remembrance of the Armenian Genocide in the Legislative Palace and the Museum of the Armenian Genocide was officially launched.<\/p>\n

In Brazil, about 100 people demonstrated outside the Turkish Embassy.<\/p>\n

The youth of the Armenian community organized a campaign on Twitter with the hashtag #GenocidioArmenio which managed to trend during Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n
