On 21 September, the day of the independence of the Republic of Armenia, a demonstration against the Azerbaijani aggression towards the Republic of Armenia was held in the Schuman roundabout of Brussels, in front of the executive institutions of the European Union. The protesters were demanding from the EU to stop its policy of double standards, cease partnership with dictatorial Azerbaijan, to sanction Azerbaijan and called on the EU to stop the illegal Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia. They also drew attention to the Azerbaijani war crimes , including mutilation of female soldiers as well as the state-level policy of hatred against Armenians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protest had been organized on the joint initiative of the EAFJD – European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy<\/a>, Comit\u00e9 des Arm\u00e9niens de Belgique – Comit\u00e9 van Armeni\u00ebrs van Belgi\u00eb<\/a>, A.A.D.B: ASSOCIATION DES ARM\u00c9NIENS D\u00c9MOCRATES DE BELGIQUE<\/a>, CDCA Belgique – Comit\u00e9 de D\u00e9fense de la Cause Arm\u00e9nienne – Hay Tad Belgium<\/a> , Zentralrat der Armenier in Deutschland e.V.<\/a>. Words of solidarity with Armenia from a number of Belgian MPs of various Parliaments (incl. the Federal Parliament, Senate) were conveyed to the protesters. Member of Belgian French Speaking friendship group with Artsakh also addressed a speech to the protesters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
