PRENSA ARMENIA (24.02.2014) \u2013 On the afternoon of Monday, February 24th, a group of young Argentine-Armenians attended the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Argentina to deliver a letter to Azerbaijani diplomats, who were conducting a seminar entitled “The resolution of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and its implications for the region”.<\/p>\n

“We write to inform our strongest condemnation of the conference that is currently taking place at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Argentina. Since its establishment in the City of Buenos Aires, the Embassy has repeatedly conducted meetings that aim to distort the Caucasian history, repeating the racist and anti-Armenian speech that the government of Ilham Aliyev maintains in actions and statements”, said the letter. Azeri diplomats refused to receive the letter.<\/p>\n

The seminar was held two days before the rally that will be held outside the embassy of Azerbaijan to remember the 26th anniversary of the Sumgait pogroms. “This seminar is a provocation. It gives us more strength to continue our fight”, said one of the protesters. The rally organized by the Armenian Youth Federation will be held on Wednesday, February 26 in Buenos Aires. The next day, there will be an “urban intervention” in Montevideo.<\/p>\n

En la tarde del lunes 24 de febrero, un grupo de j\u00f3venes de la comunidad armenia asisti\u00f3 a la Embajada de Azerbaiy\u00e1n en Argentina para entregar una carta a los diplom\u00e1ticos azer\u00edes que estaban realizando un seminario titulado “La resoluci\u00f3n del conflicto entre Armenia y Azerbaiy\u00e1n y sus implicaciones para la regi\u00f3n”.<\/p>\n

“Nos dirigimos a Ud. a fin de comunicarle nuestro m\u00e1s en\u00e9rgico repudio por la actividad que est\u00e1 realizando en la Embajada de Azerbaiy\u00e1n en Argentina. En reiteradas oportunidades, desde su radicaci\u00f3n en la Ciudad Aut\u00f3noma de Buenos Aires, ha llevado a cabo encuentros que tienen como \u00fanico objetivo tergiversar la historia del C\u00e1ucaso, desplegando la l\u00ednea racista y antiarmenia que el gobierno de Ilham Aliyev sostiene en acciones y discursos”, dec\u00eda la carta, que los diplom\u00e1ticos azer\u00edes se negaron a recibir.<\/p>\n

El seminario tuvo lugar dos d\u00edas antes de la manifestaci\u00f3n que tendr\u00e1 lugar frente a la embajada de Azerbaiy\u00e1n para recordar el 26 aniversario de los pogromos de Sumgait. “Este seminario es una provocaci\u00f3n. Esto nos da m\u00e1s fuerza para continuar nuestra lucha”, dijo uno de los manifestantes.
