Se recuerda el 24 de abril de 1915 porque ese d\u00eda el gobierno de los j\u00f3venes turcos procedi\u00f3 al arresto y asesinato de ochocientas personas notables de origen armenio, entre los que se encontraban l\u00edderes religiosos, dirigentes pol\u00edticos, reconocidos profesores, poetas, m\u00fasicos y profesionales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En una sola noche, el gobierno turco elimin\u00f3 a todos aquellos que pod\u00edan elevar la voz del pueblo armenio y denunciar ante la comunidad internacional las atrocidades que sobrevendr\u00edan: m\u00e1s asesinatos; deportaciones masivas de mujeres, ni\u00f1os y ancianos que mor\u00edan en su marcha forzada por el desierto; destrucci\u00f3n sistem\u00e1tica de iglesias, escuelas, monumentos y cualquier otro vestigio de la cultura armenia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cEducar en la memoria es educar en el respeto y en la defensa de los derechos humanos. En ese sentido, resulta fundamental promover la inclusi\u00f3n de la tem\u00e1tica del genocidio en la ense\u00f1anza; no s\u00f3lo recordando sino pensando en las condiciones que hicieron posible hechos tan aberrantes y salvajes\u201d, destac\u00f3 Ferreyra.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Photo: Pablo Ferreyra<\/em><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">El genocidio armenio en dos proyectos de la Legislatura porte\u00f1a<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El <a title=\"CNA Sudamerica\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cna.org.ar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Consejo Nacional Armenio de Sudam\u00e9rica<\/a> informa que la Legislatura de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires emiti\u00f3 el jueves 3 de abril una declaraci\u00f3n redactada por las legisladoras\u00a0<b>Virginia Gonz\u00e1lez Gass y Mar\u00eda Raquel Herrero, y acompa\u00f1ado por Pablo Ferreyra,<\/b>\u00a0para conmemorar el 24 de abril como el \u201c<b>D\u00eda \u00a0del Primer Genocidio del Siglo XX<\/b>\u201c, a\u00f1o en que se cumple \u201cel 99\u00b0 aniversario del genocidio del que fuera v\u00edctima el pueblo armenio\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A su vez, se aprob\u00f3 un proyecto presentado por el legislador\u00a0<b>Pablo Ferreyra<\/b>\u00a0en el que se recomienda al Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n realizar \u201clas gestiones necesarias para que los distintos\u00a0<b>distritos escolares y escuelas de la Ciudad realicen actividades curriculares alusivas al \u2018D\u00eda de acci\u00f3n por la tolerancia y el respeto entre los pueblos\u2019<\/b>\u201c, en referencia a la\u00a0<a title=\"Ley 26.199\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cna.org.ar\/PDF\/PublicacionLey.pdf?mkt_hm=2&amp;utm_source=email_marketing&amp;utm_admin=34014&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=La_Legisla\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ley 26.199<\/a>\u00a0que conmemora el genocidio sufrido por el pueblo armenio todos los 24 de abril. Impulsaron la iniciativa las diputadas <strong>Raquel Herrero <\/strong>(PRO), <strong>Virginia Gonz\u00e1lez Gass <\/strong>(PSA) y el diputado <strong>Pablo Ferreyra <\/strong>(IP).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El genocidio armenio, tambi\u00e9n llamado holocausto armenio, fue la deportaci\u00f3n forzosa y exterminio de un n\u00famero indeterminado de civiles, calculado aproximadamente entre un mill\u00f3n y medio y dos millones de personas, por el gobierno de los J\u00f3venes Turcos en el Imperio otomano, desde 1915 hasta 1923. Se toma el 24 de abril de 1915 como fecha de comienzo del genocidio, d\u00eda en que las autoridades otomanas detuvieron a 235 miembros de la comunidad de armenios en Estambul.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En el mismo sentido se aprob\u00f3 otro proyecto de declaraci\u00f3n presentada por el diputado <strong>Pablo Ferreyra <\/strong>(IP) a trav\u00e9s del cual la Legislatura \u201cver\u00eda con agrado que el Poder Ejecutivo, a trav\u00e9s de su Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n, realice las gestiones necesarias para que los distintos distritos escolares y escuelas de la Ciudad realicen actividades curriculares alusivas al \u201cD\u00eda de acci\u00f3n por la tolerancia y el respeto entre los pueblos\u201d incluido en el Cronograma de Conmemoraciones, Celebraciones y Recordaciones de la Agenda Educativa de la Ciudad Aut\u00f3noma de Buenos Aires en conmemoraci\u00f3n del genocidio sufrido por el pueblo armenio, el d\u00eda 24 de abril de 2014 y de todos los a\u00f1os subsiguientes\u201d.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Buenos Aires Law Marks 99th Anniversary of Genocide<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">BUENOS AIRES (Prensa Armenia)\u2014The legislative council of Buenos Aires, Argentina\u2019s capital city, issued a statement on Thursday, written by councilmembers Virginia Gonzalez Gass and Maria Raquel Herrero, commemorating April 24 as the \u201cDay of the First Genocide of the 20th Century,\u201d on the \u201c99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The council also approved a proposal submitted by legislator Pablo Ferreyra asking the Ministry of Education to allocate proper attention to the Armenian Genocide on the \u201cday of action for tolerance and respect between people,\u201d referring to an Argentinian law that commemorates the genocide suffered by the Armenian people every April 24.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cTo educate about history is to educate for the respect and protection of human rights.
