(PRENSA ARMENIA, 17\/06\/2017) On June 10 more than 30 researchers, students and specialists in Human Rights, Culture, International Politics, Identity and History gathered in one of the largest Armenian Cause events in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil.<\/p>\n

The seminar “Armenian Cause 2.1” in SAMA Clube Arm\u00eanio addressed the various faces of the theme and the perspectives for the twenty-first century.<\/p>\n

According to the information provided by SAMA Clube Arm\u00eanio, the opening was made by Dr. Vahan Agopyan, Vice-Rector of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo, the largest university in Latin America, who emphasized the importance of scientific research and the insertion of Armenian history, its multiple dimensions and the role of religion in Armenian identity.<\/p>\n

The Cultural Director of SAMA Clube Arm\u00eanio, Prof. Sarkis Ampar Sarkissian recalled that the first edition aimed to bring together those who are devoted to Armenian studies and present the intellectual production on the related themes. Engineer Alberto Kedikian, Cultural Director of SAMA Clube Arm\u00eanio added that the meeting would be a milestone and a new phase in the efforts for the Armenian Cause in Brazil.<\/p>\n

The discussion panels spoke about the role of the Armenian literature in the construction of identity, relations between Armenia and the diaspora, the impact of the genocide of 1915 on international relations, and the function of Armenian language in consolidating the identity of the 21st century.<\/p>\n

The participants of the conferences were: Dr. Teresa Malatian, historian of the State University of S\u00e3o Paulo (UNESP), Dr. Beatriz Kilikian of the Polytechnic School of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP), Dr. Lusine Yeghiazarian, Chair of Armenian Language and Literature, University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP), Dr. Rodrigo Medina Zagni, from the International Relations course of the Federal University of S\u00e3o Paulo (UNIFESP), Dr. Heitor Loureiro of Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), Dr. Flavio de Le\u00e3o Bastos, Mackenzie University, Dr. Helcio de Abreu Dallari from Mackenzie University, Prof. James Onnig Tamdjian of the FACAMP (Faculdades de Campinas), and Lawyer Phillipe Arapian, advisor of the Human Rights Attorney of Justice of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n

The Secretary General of SAMA Club Armenian Lawyer Archavir Donelian stressed that for the next editions the event should expand its scope and approach to contribute even more to the struggle for human rights and the yearnings of justice of the Armenian nation.<\/p>\n

The event ended with a tribute to Dr. Hagop Kechichian, historian and one of the most important collaborators of the Armenian Cause who preserved the history of the Armenian community of Brazil for decades and translated countless works of fundamental importance for future generations. He received from the hands of the President of SAMA Clube Arm\u00eanio, Nigol Nigoghosian, a plaque in honor of his appointment as the patron of the event.<\/p>\n

The representative of the Armenian National Committe of Brazil<\/a>, Onnig Tamdjian, stressed that the union of all can make the difference and that “Armenian Cause 2.1” came to remind everyone that this is possible and that it should be so if we build a better and more just world.<\/p>\n

Importante evento pol\u00edtico en San Pablo<\/p>\n

(DIARIO ARMENIA) M\u00e1s de una treintena de investigadores, expertos y estudiantes de Derechos Humanos, Cultura, Pol\u00edtica Internacional, Identidad e Historia se reunieron en uno de los mayores eventos sobre la Causa Armenia y armenidad llevados a cabo en San Pablo, Brasil.<\/p>\n

El tema Causa Armenia 2.1 abord\u00f3 las perspectivas para el siglo XXI. Fueron mesas de divulgaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica y debates formados por estudiantes y profesores.<\/p>\n

La apertura fue llevada a cabo por el profesor Dr. Vah\u00e1n Agopyan, vicerrector de la Universidad de San Pablo (USP), la mayor de Am\u00e9rica Latina, que destac\u00f3 la importancia de la investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica y la inserci\u00f3n de la historia armenia y sus m\u00faltiples dimensiones y el papel de la religi\u00f3n en la identidad armenia.<\/p>\n

El director cultural de SAMA \u2013 Club Armenio, Prof. Sarkis Ampar Sarkissian puso de manifiesto que esta primera edici\u00f3n pretende acercar a todos los que se dedican a los estudios armenios y presentar la producci\u00f3n intelectual sobre los temas relacionados.<\/p>\n

El ingeniero Alberto Kedikian, tambi\u00e9n director cultural de SAMA \u2013 Club Armenio asegur\u00f3 que el encuentro va a ser un hito y abrir\u00e1 una nueva etapa en los esfuerzos por la Causa Armenia en Brasil.<\/p>\n

Las mesas abordaron tem\u00e1ticas como la literatura armenia en la construcci\u00f3n de la identidad, las relaciones entre Armenia y la Di\u00e1spora, el impacto del genocidio de 1915 en las relaciones internacionales y el idioma armenio en la consolidaci\u00f3n de la identidad del siglo XXI.<\/p>\n

Participaron de las mesas a Prof. Dra. Teresa Malatian, historiadora de la Universidad Estadual Paulista (UNESP), Prof.Dra. Beatriz Kilikian de la Escuela Polit\u00e9cnica de la Universidad de S\u00e3o Paulo (USP), Prof. Dra. El secretario general de SAMA \u2013 Club Armenio Abogado Archavir Donelian destac\u00f3 que para las pr\u00f3ximas ediciones el evento debe ampliar su dimensi\u00f3n y enfoque para contribuir a\u00fan m\u00e1s con la lucha por los derechos humanos y los anhelos de justicia de la naci\u00f3n Armenia.<\/p>\n

El evento se cerr\u00f3 con un homenaje al Prof. Dr. Hagop Kechichian, historiador y uno de los m\u00e1s destacados colaboradores de la Causa Armenia que durante d\u00e9cadas preserv\u00f3 la historia de la comunidad armenia de Brasil y tradujo innumerables trabajos de fundamental importancia para las futuras generaciones.<\/p>\n

Recibi\u00f3 de manos del Presidente de la SAMA \u2013 Club Armenio, Nigol Nigoghosian, una placa en homenaje a su nombramiento como el patrono del evento.<\/p>\n
