BURBANK, Calif.—The Armenian National Committee of America-Burbank (ANCA–B) endorses the candidacy of Juan Gillen for Burbank City Council.
This rounds out the slate for Burbank’s April 14th General Election when two council members and one more school board member will be elected (two of ANCA–B’s endorsed candidates were elected to the school board in the Primary election).
Emily Gabel-Luddy for Burbank City Council, and Armond Aghakhanian, were already endorsed in the Primary Election and advanced to the General Election.
Juan Guillen is a second time candidate who comes from the financial services industry, has been active in Burbank’s civic life, and has extended a hand of cooperation to the Armenian community.
Emily Gabel-Luddy is a one-term incumbent and has supported issues of concern to the Burbank Armenian community with her votes on the Council dais, familiarizing herself with many of the current issues that confront Armenians worldwide.
Armond Aghakhanian is himself an ANCA activist, educator, has long been politically active, and has previously been a candidate for School Board. He brings the passion of a father who wants great schools for his child who will soon start attending Burbank schools. He will serve as a strong voice for the Armenian community’s needs.
The ballots were mailed on Wednesday, March 18, and should be arriving in homes by Friday or Saturday March 20/21. ANCA–B alerts the community to look for the envelope, picture of which accompanies this information.
“We strongly urge our community members to vote immediately upon receiving their ballots,” said Simon Avanessian. He further explained that “the sooner you vote, the more of our endorsed candidates’ campaign efforts can be allocated to securing additional voters’ support.”
The Armenian National Committee of America–Burbank advances the social, economic, cultural, and political rights of the area’s Armenian community and promotes its increased civic participation at the grassroots and public policy levels.

Պըրպենքի Հայ Դատը Կը Զօրակցի Կիէնի Ընտրապայքարին
ՊԸՐՊԵՆՔ.- Պըրպենքի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբը կը յայտարարէ, թէ որոշած է զօրակցիլ Պըրպենքի քաղաքապետական խորհուրդի ընտրութեանց իր թեկնածութիւնը առաջադրած Խուան Կիէնի ընտրապայքարին։
Ապրիլ 14ի ընտրութիւններուն, Պըրպենքի քաղաքացիները պիտի ընտրեն քաղաքապետական խորհուրդի երկու անդամ եւ Պըրպենքի Կրթական խորհուրդի անդամ մը։
Ինչպէս հաղորդած էինք արդէն, Պըրպենքի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի զօրակցութիւնը վայելող Էմըլի Կէյպըլ Լատի (քաղաքապետական խորհուրդի ընտրութիւններ) եւ Արմոնտ Աղախանեան (Կրթական խորհուրդի ընտրութիւններ) արդէն իսկ հասած են կրկնակի ընտրութիւններուն: Պըրպենքի քաղաքապետական խորհուրդի ընտրութիւններուն, ոչ մէկ թեկնածու կրցած էր առաջին հանգրուանէն իսկ ընտրուիլ, ինչի համար ալ հարկաւոր էր ապահովել քուէներուն առնուազն 50 տոկոսը:
Խուան Կիէն երկրորդ անգամ ըլլալով կը մասնակցի ընտրութեանց։ Ան ելեւմտական սպասարկութեանց ոլորտէն է, Պըրպենքի քաղաքական կեանքին մէջ աշխոյժ ներկայութիւն ունի եւ համագործակցած է քաղաքի հայութեան հետ։
Յիշեցնենք, որ քաղաքը որդեգրած է նամակատան միջոցաւ քուէարկութեան դրութիւնը միայն. քաղաքի բնակիչները, Ապրիլ 14ին կայանալիք կրկնակի ընտրութիւններուն համար, նոր քուէաթղթիկներ պիտի ստանան այս շաբթուան ընթացքին։
