PASADENA, Calif.—The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), Pasadena Chapter has announced its endorsement of Councilmember Terry Tornek for Mayor of Pasadena.
The ANCA, Pasadena Chapter’s support of Councilmember Tornek’s candidacy is based on his vision and plan for the City of Pasadena and for his strong support of the Armenian American Community.
Terry Tornek believes in the need to protect Pasadena neighborhoods from overdevelopment and crime, supports excellence in public schools and wants to continue the effort to bring in better jobs for the city’s residents as well as assure accountability and quality performance within City government.
The ANCA, Pasadena Chapter believes that Councilmember Tornek will continue to improve on insuring diverse and equal representation of all ethnic communities within the city’s government and urges the Armenian American community as well as the community at large to participate in the upcoming election on March 10, 2015.
Councilmember Tornek was born and raised in New York City and moved to Pasadena from Massachusetts in 1982 to accept the position of Planning Director. He graduated from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School with a degree in public and international affairs. He also earned a master of science in urban planning from Columbia University’s School of Architecture.
Terry Tornek and his wife Maria have been married for 46 years. They have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), Pasadena Chapter announced its endorsements for the following candidates for Pasadena City Council and Pasadena Unified School District Board of Education for the primary elections on March 10, 2015.
Pasadena City Council:
District 2 – Margaret McAustin (Incumbent)
District 6 – Steve Madison (Incumbent)
Pasadena Unified School District:
School District 2 – Roy Boulghourjian
School District 4 – Patrick Cahalan
School District 6 – Lawrence Torres
The ANCA, Pasadena Chapter’s endorsement procedure for all candidates running for political office entails a thorough evaluation of the candidates’ submitted written questionnaires and interviews conducted by an Election Committee. Recommendations are made by the Election Committee and the ANCA-Pasadena Chapter Board endorses the most qualified candidates.

ՓԱՍԱՏԻՆԱ.- Փասատինայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբը հրապարակած է Մարտ 10ին կայանալիք ընտրութեան իր յանձնարարականները՝ քաղաքապետի պաշտօնին համար նեցուկ կանգնելով Թերի Թորնեքին, որ ներկայիս անդամ է Փասատինայի քաղաքապետական խորհուրդին ու իր քաղաքական գործունէութեամբ փաստած է, որ զօրավիգ կը կանգնի հայութեան։ Ան նաեւ կարեւոր կը նկատէ քաղաքին մէջ ապահովութեան ամրապնդումը, ինչպէս նաեւ՝ դպրոցներու որակի բարելաւումն ու աշխատանքի որակաւոր կարելիութեանց ստեղծումը։
