BURBANK—The Armenian National Committee of America – Burbank (Burbank ANCA) recently hosted its candidates’ reception on February 8, 2015. The intimate event was held at the beautiful home of Apo and Nora Tashjian. City Council and School Board candidates addressed the guests and received contributions from the community.
Over the years, Burbank ANCA has continuously strived to increase the level of civic participation by members of Burbank’s Armenian community. The candidates’ reception is only one example of Burbank ANCA’s effort to engage Armenian community members with civic activities.
“With each round of elections, we are faced with the challenge of not only meeting our previous Armenian voter turnout rate, but surpassing it. This is critical in maintaining and strengthening the Armenian voice in the Burbank community,” said Zareh Khachatourian, Burbank ANCA Co-Chair.
Burbank residents should have received ballots for Burbank’s all-mail Primary Election by now. Residents should complete their ballots as soon as possible. As a reminder, the ANCA’s endorsed candidates are:
City Council: Emily Gabel-Luddy
Board of Education: Armond Aghakhanian, Steve Ferguson, Vahe Hovanessian, and Roberta Reynolds.
For Board of Education, vote for only three candidates, even though four have been endorsed.
If you have not received your ballot, contact the Burbank City Clerk’s office, 818/238-5851, and request a replacement ballot. Հանդիպում Պըրպենքի Ընտրութեանց Թեկնածուներուն Հետ
ՊԸՐՊԵՆՔ.- Պըրպենքի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի կազմակերպութեամբ, Փետրուար 8ին հաւաք մը տեղի ունեցաւ Աբօ եւ Նորա Թաշճեաններու բնակարանին մէջ, առիթ ընծայելով համայնքի անդամներուն, որ աւելի մօտէն ծանօթանան քաղաքապետական եւ կրթական խորհուրդներու ընտրութեան մասնակցող թեկնածուներուն հետ, որոնցմէ ոմանք նիւթական աջակցութիւն ստացան հաւաքի մասնակիցներէն։
Պըրպենքի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբը տարիներէ ի վեր յատուկ ջանք կը թափէ հայ համայնքը քաղաքականապէս աւելի աշխոյժ դարձնելու համար, եւ սոյն հաւաքը մաս կը մազմէր այդ ջանքերուն։
«Իւրաքանչիւր ընտրութեանց սեմին, մենք մեզ կը գտնենք նախորդ ընտրութիւններէն աւելի շատ մասնակցութիւն ապահովելու մարտահրաւէրին առջեւ, ինչ որ պիտի նպաստէ Պըրպենքի հայութեան ձայնը աւելի ազդու դարձնելու ջանքերուն», կը յայտնէ Պըրպենքի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի համաատենապետ Զարեհ Խաչատրեան։
Յիշեցնենք, որ քաղաքը որդեգրած է միայն նամակատան միջոցաւ քուէարկութեան դրութիւնը: Մինչեւ այսօր, քաղաքի բնակիչները պէտք է ստացած ըլլան իրենց քուէաթղթիկները, իսկ անոնք, որոնք չեն ստացած տակաւին, պէտք է անմիջապէս դիմեն քաղաքի քարտուղարի գրասենեակը՝ (818) 238-5851 թիւով։
