ANCA Glendale Presents Certificate of Recognition to Honored BERT Dance Ensemble

Glendale – On December 10th, 2017 the Armenian National Committee of America Glendale Chapter, presented a Certificate of Recognition to “Bert” Dance Ensemble in recognition of its remarkable achievement in the performing arts, and contribution to the promotion of Armenian culture and heritage throughout the world.

The certificate was presented by Community Outreach Director Margarita Baghdasaryan, at the finale of an unforgettable performance by “Bert” Dance Ensemble at the John Wayne Performing Arts Center. The ensemble, which has been recognized and awarded on countless occasions is currently on tour in the United States, with performances in Glendale CA, Boston MA and Demarest NJ.

During the weekend performing in Glendale, “Bert” Dance Ensemble was recognized by the offices of CA State Senator Anthony Portantino, Assemblymember Laura Freidman and LA Country Supervisor Kathryn Barger.

The ensemble, which is celebrating its 55th anniversary, was founded by People’s Artists of the Republic of Armenia, Boris Gevorgyan. Honored Artists of the Republic of Armenia Karen Gevorgyan serves as the Artistic Director and General Ballet Master, and Stepan Gevorgyan as the ensemble’s Director.

The ANCA Glendale Chapter advocates for the social, economic, cultural, and political rights of the city’s Armenian American community and promotes increased civic participation at the grassroots and public policy levels. Log on to ancaglendale.org for more information.
